It's Christmas time!

I have been busy decorating for Christmas around our house.
I am hosting a spa party at my home next week and want everything to be perfect.

I have been working on my garland.  I purchased basic green garland and I knew I would be adding picks and flowers to it.  I wanted to do a silver theme in my foyer.
Well, you would be surprised as to how much stuff is not Silver.  It was very frustrating.

Anywho, I purchased white poinsettia flowers at Pat Catan's.

The centers were red and fake flower looking, so I painted them silver with glitter glue.
The stuff worked great.
Here is the finished product in my foyer.
And a close up...
Didn't it come out great?  I have a banister at the top of my stairs that I am working on too.
I just need a few more bows, the one Pat Catan's was out of them.
I love how it came out!  It truly makes me smile with delight when I go upstairs.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend!

Getting in the Christmas Spirit

I have lots to make this year to get our house decorated for Christmas.  With our new home, I have many new places to hang garland and pictures and don't even know where to start.
For inspiration I took a look at my sister-in-law's home.  Her house is fabulous year round, but especially beautiful at Christmas.  I wish she lived here so she could help decorate my house!
Here's a few pictures from last year...

I did decorate!

Well, I did decorate for the Fall Harvest!
Here is our dining room...

Can you believe I got that little chandelier on the table from Marc's for $3??
The tablecloth is from Target.
With the lights off... so spooky!
Our foyer and stairwell.  Hopefully I will find more garland on sale for next year!
Our front door and our little monkey!
I hope everyone had a great Halloween!

I am in love with Damask

While my grandparents were in town from Kentucky, they helped me hang some window treatments in our new home.  Thank goodness b/c the hubby HATES to hang anything!
Currently, I am in LOVE with damask.  While on a trip to Joann Fabrics my mom and I found this beautiful fabric which I thought would go perfectly over our kitchen window.  And boy was I right!

Here is a close-up of the fabric.  We added the beading to give it just something extra.

Isn't she gorgeous?  She makes me smile whenever I am in the kitchen.  Thankfully my Memau didn't mind making this for me, b/c lord knows I do not have the time.

Smiles!

Happy Thanksgiving

Well I cooked my first turkey today... with help from my Mom of course.  The "pop-up" never popped on the turkey, and I was frantic, but it ended up being ok.  I think we had a defective pop-up.  LOL.
Anywho, I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.

I am on my way to Toys R Us... crazy, I know!  I guess people have been lined up since 3 pm this afternoon.  Why can't they just have online sales for everything?
Gotta love Black Friday!

What a busy month!

So sorry for the delay in writing.  October has been a busy month.  We moved into the new house.
(We are putting our yard in next Spring)
We got married on 10-10-10
My father passed away... and we found out we are having another baby - Due June 7!
So needless to say it has been a busy month.

I am so jealous of the bloggers out there that can continually update their blogs.  I think my 2011 resolution might be to make an effort for at least 1 or 2 posts per week.
Maybe if I didn't work full time I would be able to keep it!

Smiles!
