Come and Knock on My Door!

So I finally finished a project that I started last week.
I purchased this H at Pat Catan's and a bag of moss from the dollar store.
I ended up not using the bag of moss because it looked too messy and I didn't like the look.
So, I found the moss mat and traced my H and made it that way.
It was a much cleaner look.

I love it!
I think it needs some flowers or something else, but it's perfect for now!
Yay, now if the weather would cooperate, warm up, and stop raining, we could really enjoy spring.

Rice Krispie Treats

I have never made Rice Krispie treats but I was determined to make them this year.  I searched for a bunny cookie mold tray to make these in so I could send these treats in with my son to daycare.  I can't believe how easy they were to make... why haven't I made these sooner?
So I would start them in the mold and then transfer them to the cookie sheet.
I used M&M's for the eyes and chocolate chips for the nose.

I had purchased the icing in the container which made it really easy to make the mouth.

I think they came out really cute!

I purchased some bags at Walmart and bagged them up.

Here they all are!  I need to add the little tags that say Hoppy Easter, but that's tomorrow nights project!
YAY, for fun treats for daycare.
I am so that mom.

I will be taking these in on Thursday.
Are you doing anything special for work or for your child this Easter?

My Green Works Houseparty!

I hosted by first Houseparty yesterday and it went GREAT!
If you haven't heard of Houseparty, hope on over there and sign up.  It's a great way to have friends over and test products that are currently or new to the market.
My party was a Green Works New to You Houseparty.

Guests were encouraged to bring something to exchange with someone else.
I purchased some green platters, bowl and cups to encourage the green theme!  I also picked up some Green Works All Purpose Cleaner.  This stuff is amazing, it really made my granite shine!

With the food - and my 8 month prego belly!
We lost power at 6 am that morning, so I had to run out and purchase cupcakes.  I was so bummed b/c I had bought green icing for the party. :(  I still wrapped them in my green cupcake liners!
Most of the attendees had heard of Green Works but didn't currently use it.
They sent us wipes to use at the party.  One woman had brought a cupcake pan and was amazed that the wipe got rid of the rust on the pan.

I did some comparing of pricing while at our local grocery store and we were all pleasantly surprised to learn that Green Works products are the same price or less than a normal household cleaners.
The wipes said good on any surface, so we tried them on my stainless steel range hood.
They worked great and gave it a nice shine.

It also worked great on my son's high chair and the wipes got rid of the spaghetti sauce stains.

All my guests also received laundry detergent and Burts Bees lotion as a thank you for coming.
We had a great time.
I can't wait to host another party.

XOXO

It's finally Spring!

This post brought to you by Pier 1. All opinions are 100% mine.

Cleveland has finally decided that it's Spring!  Thank goodness.  That means I can begin to decorate outside including purchasing outdoor furniture.  I don't know about you, but I love to walk around Pier 1 and see what new items they get in every season.

We won't be putting in our yard for another few weeks but I do have a front porch that needs some serious decorating.  I LOVE the Outdoor Perched Bird Bench.  It would be perfect with the Delux Angelique Chair Cushion.  The florals and bright colors are just what we need to remind us that summer is just around the corner.

I am also in love with the white Jardin de Marie Outdoor Armchair and Outdoor Table.  They are so fancy looking and I could imagine myself sitting in this chair drinking my coffee in the morning.  And my new baby on the way and I could cuddle up in the Swingasan this summer.

Besides those fabulous Delux Angelique Chair Cushions they have many other new cushions that you can check out on Pier 1's website that would provide an easy update to your old cushions that you are dying to replace.

What I love about Pier 1 is that many of their items can be used inside or outside.  I would love to hang the Swirls and Gems Wall Decor outside on my front porch for that extra wow before guests come into my home.  Oh and the rugs.  Talk about great Spring colors.  You could easily put one outside near your seating area or bring it inside for that pop of color that everyone needs this time of year.  I have quite a few of the metal lanterns throughout my house and I can't wait to take a few outside for those nights that the hubby and I have a glass of wine.

There is still one Pier 1 Tweetups left to check out.  If you are near the NYC area I suggest you try and get there!

Make sure to spring into your local Pier 1 and check out everything that they have to offer.  I assure you, you will find something that you can add to your home!

Great finds at TJ Maxx!

I love shopping at TJ Maxx.  I can always find something.
While on a recent trip I found this great glass vase.
I love the bird detailing.  If I had a Silhouette machine I could have gotten a tall glass vase or picked one up from a thrift shop, but since I don't, I just purchased it. :)

I also found some light up twigs that I thought were gorgeous.  So I put those and a piece of floral foam that I had on hand and some moss that I was going to use for another project and made myself up a pretty decoration for my foyer.
Don't you love it?

XOXO

Yummy Carrot Cake!

So, last Friday I really had a craving for Carrot Cake.  I almost made the hubby take me to the local bakery to get me a piece, then I checked out my trusty Betty Crocker cookbook and found this recipe.
I checked out the ingredients and I had everything in my pantry.  I was pumped!

So besides the fact the we only had baby carrots and I nearly killed my fingers shredding them, oh and that I only have 1 round cake pan, it was a huge success.

Yes, my top layer is smaller than the other, I really need another round cake pan!

I also made the frosting from scratch and didn't realize how much the recipe would make would.  I should have put more in the middle, but since I wasn't sure how much it would make, I scaled back.

For my first carrot cake, I think I did pretty well.
Oh, and it tasted amazing!!

Have you baked anything this week?

Looking for a Spring Break Getaway?

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hiltons of Branson for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

We have family that lives in Kentucky and we have been trying to plan a trip together and this would be the perfect getaway.

Scenic Branson, or as some know it, the Silver Dollar City, would be a great Spring Break destination.  The Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel would be the perfect place for our families to all link up. They have an indoor and an outdoor pool (which is great for those of us with kids), a fitness center, and a gorgeous fountain that entertains guests throughout the day with water shows!

You can bring the whole family to Silver Dollar City! The Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel and the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing are offering awesome spring break packages!  They include two adult tickets and two children's tickets for 2 full days of fun in the Silver Dollar City. It also includes a $25 food and beverage voucher for Level 2 Steakhouse located on the second floor of the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel. This two-night, three-day package starts at $455.00 plus tax. It’s just another way Hilton is making family fun even more affordable.

Besides the excitement of Silver Dollar City, Branson has ongoing events for everyone’s enjoyment this spring like the exciting Charlie Daniels Band (Devil Went Down to Georgia anyone?), the 3rd Annual Missouri Food and Wine Festival (April 29 & 30), Bluegrass and BBQ (YUMMY), shows galore and much more.

Some things I would do if I got a chance to get to Branson?

Monday - Golf at the Payne Stewart Golf Club with the hubby

Tuesday - Hit up Branson's IMAX Entertainment Complex for some shopping and a flick!

Wednesday - Get the family and head to The Track Family Fun Park

Thursday - Enjoy the Stone Hill Winery and come back to enjoy a steak dinner at Level 2 steakhouse

Friday - Relax by the pool

Saturday - Go to the Branson Craft Mall

With so much to offer, this exciting vacation community is the social scene for spring.  What a great getaway!  Anyone going anywhere for a Spring getaway?
