Coasters

Ok, so don't hate me but I forgot to blog about the coasters I have been seeing all over blogland that I made for Christmas gifts.
I found a cute ornament at Walmart and put it on top of the little packages
All three package and ready to go.
I found a couple more ornaments that I like at Walmart and eventually unwrapped the other two sets and added the ornament.  It's the perfect little topper on these cute homeade gifts.
Enjoy!

Ornament Wreath

So I have been seeing these ornament wreaths all over blogland and was dying to make one.  When I saw this cute little tutorial over at Domestic Fashionista I just had to make one.
I found a bucket of silver ornaments at Marcs for $6.99 and I stole a white wire hanger from my husband's shirts. :)
Here's how it came out:
Winding the wire back together at the top was somewhat of a challenge, but some flower wire and duct tape seemed to hold it together.
Now I need one of those command strips to hang it in my foyer and I will be all set.
Thanks Ashley!

Handmade Gift Exchange - My gift

As I posted yesterday, I participated in the Handmade Gift Exchange over at Craftaholics Anonymous.
Here is what Brooke sent me.
I promptly hung it on our beverage center.
It's perfect!
What a fabulous gift I received.
Happy Holidays!

Quick Holiday Craft

While out shopping at Walmart  I came across these cute monogram stocking charms in the Christmas section.  I grabbed an H and wasn't sure what I was going to do with it.   I didn't really have a reason to shop on Black Friday, but I went out just to check things out.   While at Kohls, I found a gorgeous picture frame and instantly I knew what to do with my "H."
Do you love it?  Everyone that has seen it has complimented me on it and asked where to get one.  My mom even went to Kohls to get some frames to make them as gifts this year.
I think I might make a few for my son's teacher gifts this year.
Cheers!

Centerpiece

So I we moved our table from the dining room into the kitchen.  After having Thanksgiving dinner in the dining room, we decided we wanted a bigger table for that space.  Now I have a VERY empty dining room.
Anywho, I decided my table needed a centerpiece, luckily I LOVE glass and have quite a few Apothecary jars laying around the house.  I found some cheap ornaments at Target in the dollar section.
I took some cotton batting and stretched it out to make it look like snow.
And filled my pretty jar.
Now to find a pretty tablecloth or table runner for the table.

More Decorations

So my kitchen was lacking a little Christmas cheer, so I thought I would add something to the lights fixtures.  Here is the before, sorry it's not a great picture, I took it on my phone.
I found some cute little flower rings at Michaels for 1/2 off and put them on the kitchen lights.

It is the perfect touch on the lights.  I put them on the island lights as well.  Now I am debating getting the larger size to hang on the backs of my chairs.  Maybe if they go a little cheaper...
Happy Saturday!

It's Christmas time!

I have been busy decorating for Christmas around our house.
I am hosting a spa party at my home next week and want everything to be perfect.

I have been working on my garland.  I purchased basic green garland and I knew I would be adding picks and flowers to it.  I wanted to do a silver theme in my foyer.
Well, you would be surprised as to how much stuff is not Silver.  It was very frustrating.

Anywho, I purchased white poinsettia flowers at Pat Catan's.

The centers were red and fake flower looking, so I painted them silver with glitter glue.
The stuff worked great.
Here is the finished product in my foyer.
And a close up...
Didn't it come out great?  I have a banister at the top of my stairs that I am working on too.
I just need a few more bows, the one Pat Catan's was out of them.
I love how it came out!  It truly makes me smile with delight when I go upstairs.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend!

Getting in the Christmas Spirit

I have lots to make this year to get our house decorated for Christmas.  With our new home, I have many new places to hang garland and pictures and don't even know where to start.
For inspiration I took a look at my sister-in-law's home.  Her house is fabulous year round, but especially beautiful at Christmas.  I wish she lived here so she could help decorate my house!
Here's a few pictures from last year...
