Rice Krispie Treats

I have never made Rice Krispie treats but I was determined to make them this year.  I searched for a bunny cookie mold tray to make these in so I could send these treats in with my son to daycare.  I can't believe how easy they were to make... why haven't I made these sooner?
So I would start them in the mold and then transfer them to the cookie sheet.
I used M&M's for the eyes and chocolate chips for the nose.

I had purchased the icing in the container which made it really easy to make the mouth.

I think they came out really cute!

I purchased some bags at Walmart and bagged them up.

Here they all are!  I need to add the little tags that say Hoppy Easter, but that's tomorrow nights project!
YAY, for fun treats for daycare.
I am so that mom.

I will be taking these in on Thursday.
Are you doing anything special for work or for your child this Easter?

XOXO

Yummy Carrot Cake!

So, last Friday I really had a craving for Carrot Cake.  I almost made the hubby take me to the local bakery to get me a piece, then I checked out my trusty Betty Crocker cookbook and found this recipe.
I checked out the ingredients and I had everything in my pantry.  I was pumped!

So besides the fact the we only had baby carrots and I nearly killed my fingers shredding them, oh and that I only have 1 round cake pan, it was a huge success.

Yes, my top layer is smaller than the other, I really need another round cake pan!

I also made the frosting from scratch and didn't realize how much the recipe would make would.  I should have put more in the middle, but since I wasn't sure how much it would make, I scaled back.

For my first carrot cake, I think I did pretty well.
Oh, and it tasted amazing!!

Have you baked anything this week?

Easter Specimen Art

I am already working on some fun Easter crafts!
I picked up some small Easter Egg glitter picks from the Dollar Store.

I pulled the eggs off the picks.
Later, I decided to pull the ribbons off the picks too.
You never know when you might need little ribbons, right?

I cut the eggs in half.  I ended up using almost all of them.
I first arranged them on some pink scrapbook paper that I already had on hand.

I then measured out, because I am slightly anal, where I wanted to place the eggs.
Bought a cute white frame then realized it needed something.  Cue little ribbons!
I added the ribbons onto the eggs, mixing up the colors of eggs and ribbon.
VOILA!
Do you love it?
I am pretty happy with how it came out.
Hoppy Easter!

XOXO

Easter Eggs

So I am a bit backlogged on my blogging, so I apologize. This was our first Easter with our son, so I thought I would go all out and decorate eggs this year.
A woman at worked was talking about tie-dying eggs, which le
d me over to a great blog Our Best Bites
So I took a trip over to the Salvation Army and picked up some ties and when to work.

Here is how they turned out.
I really liked this one!

This one was fun too.
Not sure we will attempt this one next year. But it was something really fun to try!
