Flower Headband

So a few days ago I showed you the tutu that I made for my Little Princess.  Here I will show you how I made the headband to match.
I purchased a stem of flowers from Joanns and pulled them off the stem.

I then took apart the flowers so they would lay flat.
I then hot glued them back together by putting glue around the center of the flower.

I then measured my headband elastic to a headband that I had purchased at the store, since I knew that fit her head.
I sewed up the ends with matching thread.

And finally hot glued the flower onto the headband.

Ta-da!!
I also added a rhinestone in the middle to add some bling.

Isn't she adorable?!?! And yes, I know the flower is as large as her head.  LOL.

I made a sunflower one as well!

I think the next one I am going to make will be interchangeable so I don't have so many headbands and I will be able to use them on bigger headbands as she gets bigger.

Enjoy!

Tutu Cute!

I made a pink tutu for my little princess over the past week.
Here is how I did it:
I cut strips of tulle into 16 inch strips
Cut a piece of elastic to my daughter's waist and looped the tulle onto the elastic.  You can do this as loose or as tight as you would like depending on how many pieces of tulle you want to add.

Getting close to being done...

I hot glued on some rhinestones to bling it up a bit.
The finished product.
(I made the headband too.  Tutorial coming soon!)

Isn't it cute?
Here is the little princess sleeping through the photo shoot.

Hope you have a great day!

Headband Organization

So, as our home is being built we are living out of boxes. It is truly awful and I can't find a thing.
As I went for my "go-to" headband the other morning, it had snapped from being stuffed in an old make-up bag!
So on my lunch break, of course, I googled headband holders and found this wonderful idea over at Joy's Hope.
What a fabulous idea!
Here it goes.

I took an empty oatmeal container, that luckily my mom had just finished, and pealed the label off.

I picked out some really cute pink damask paper to cover it with.

I put the paper around the container to make sure it fit, it took two 12x12 sheets.
We couldn't find the lid, so I thought I would make a paper cover for the bottom as well.

After it was cut, I applied Mod Podge, to put the paper on the container, then a thin layer over the paper and let dry for about 30 minutes.

And Voila!  A perfect headband holder!  Love it!
If I would of had a lid I would put my other hair jewels in there as well, but this will work perfect for now!

Have a great weekend!
